2008 Lifesavers Workshop Submission

April 13-15, 2008– Oregon Convention Center – Portland, OR

• Deadline for submitting: November 2, 2007.
• Lifesavers Planning Committee decisions will be made by December 20, 2007.

Submission parameters for the 2008 Lifesavers Conference:

• Workshop and speaker suggestions must be submitted on-line. 
• Because of the limited number of workshop slots, recommendations for individual speakers are much more likely to be approved than recommendations for entire workshops.
• Submissions must describe the proposed presentation or workshop in sufficient detail to permit Lifesavers to judge the proposal.
• Submissions that describe interventions or projects designed to change behavior must also include a description of evaluations documenting the impact of the project or activity being proposed for a presentation or workshop.  “Impact” in this context means impact on crashes, injuries, fatalities, restraint use, impaired driving or other measurable results related to a specific target group.
• Please be aware that Lifesavers already has more potential workshop topics than can be accommodated, particularly in the Teen, Research & Data and Child Passenger Safety Tracks.  While every attempt is made to include as many project activities as possible in the Lifesavers program, presentations are necessarily limited to those that have demonstrated the greatest potential to impact a highway safety problem in a state or community.
• While your workshop idea may be used or combined with other related topics, you may or may not be asked to be a speaker.
• Due to the limited availability of workshop slots, Lifesavers will only accept one submission per individual or organization.

Poster Session Submissions:

• If you believe your project has merit but its potential impact has yet to be evaluated, you may wish to submit it to the Lifesavers Poster Session, which has become very popular during the past two years. A poster session is a graphic display of a program or other activity. Click here for details regarding posters.
• Exhibitors are not eligible to display a poster.
• Applications for the Lifesavers 2008 Poster Session will be available on this website in November.
