The Willamette Waterfront Ride begins on the downtown side of the Waterfront Bike Path and continues to the Steel Bicycle Bridge crossing. Here riders cross to the East bank Esplanade on a dedicated multi-use path that floats along the East bank of the Willamette River. This is the longest floating trail in the U.S. and has beautiful views of the city skyline. As the ride continues the path becomes quiet and tree-lined with views of Ross Island on the Willamette River. The ride passes through Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge where wildlife is often spotted, including Blue Heron and Osprey! On the way back the famous Hawthorne Bridge is used to cross to the West or downtown side of the river. This is the most popular bike commuting bridge in the city. Riders will then spin down the Waterfront and finish the ride at Waterfront Bicycle. Directions to Waterfront Bike will be given to you upon registration.
