Give a Little Happiness: Donate a Toy!
Lifesavers is supporting The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) ongoing toy drive. When you donate a new, unwrapped toy, game, gift card, craft kit or other item to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, you help bring a little happiness to a sick child. To view the kids’ “Wish List” and find out how your donation would be used, visit The CHOP website HERE.
Founded in 1855, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is the birthplace of pediatric medicine in America. Throughout its history, a passionate spirit of innovation has driven this renowned institution to pursue scientific discovery, establish the highest standards of patient care and train future leaders in pediatrics.
Consider donating – the kids at CHOP need you. Pack a little something extra in your suitcase when you come to the Lifesavers Conference, and drop it off in the collection area located in the exhibit hall.

What is Lifesavers? (back to top)
Lifesavers is the premier national highway safety meeting in the United States dedicated to reducing the tragic toll of deaths and injuries on our nation's roadways. Starting in the early 1980s, the Lifesavers conference attendance has grown steadily, drawing nearly 2,000 participants in 2009. Each year, the Lifesavers Conference provides a forum that delivers relevant and timely common-sense solutions to today's critical highway safety problems.
The conference addresses a wide range of safety topics, from child passenger safety and occupant protection to roadway and vehicle safety and technology. It offers the latest information on advances in highway safety, highlights successful programs and draws attention to emerging safety issues.
Lifesavers has no single sponsor and relies on the involvement of diverse private and public groups who share the common goal of improving highway safety.

Why Should You Attend Lifesavers? (back to top)
While it is impossible to correlate reduced crashes, injuries and fatalities to attendance at a conference, the Lifesavers program is put together by a dedicated group of highway safety experts from both the public and private sectors. We strive to base workshops on evidence-based programs that can be replicated in communities throughout the country. If you haven't attended a Lifesavers conference in a while, we urge you to join us at our next conference in Philadelphia. We are confident that you won't go away disappointed.
Conference attendees come from the public and private sectors and represent many career fields such as child passenger safety, state and local law enforcement, community traffic safety programs, state and local emergency medical services, public health services, injury prevention programs, federal and state highway safety agencies, prosecutors and judges involved in traffic safety issues, the automotive and insurance industries, and advocacy and research.
Lifesavers participants meet with their highway safety peers in a forum where they can share program successes, experience valuable networking with their peers, and develop alliances with people from all over the country.
