The longer ride encompasses the first ride but will continue on past Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge and take a turn to the east at Sellwood, a quaint Portland neighborhood where a bike boulevard is accessed to pick up the Springwater Corridor Trail. Here riders will enjoy crossing three recently dedicated bicycling bridges on the path as it zigzags Johnson Creek and passes Tideman Johnson Nature Park that is nestled in a natural gorge along the banks of the creek. Turning off the Springwater Corridor Trail after Tideman Johnson Nature Park and riding Crystal Springs Blvd. (bike lane) to the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden. The garden will be in bloom in April and is often one of our featured rides this time of year as it is beautiful to see. The ride will then finish the same way back across the Hawthorne Bridge. Cost of the ride includes the entry fee for the garden. Directions to Waterfront Bike will be given to you upon registration.
